Terms of Use
Last updated: July 30, 20261. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ReClaim Android application ("ReClaim," "the App") and the tryreclaim.io website (together, the "Service"), provided by ReClaim ("we," "us," "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
ReClaim is an Android home-screen launcher application designed to help users manage app usage through features including app blocking, daily and weekly usage limits, intentional-use reminders, scheduled blocking, and hidden-app friction levels. The Service is provided free of charge with no advertisements.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher, for example 16 in some EU member states unless a lower age has been set by national law) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use ReClaim.
4. License to use ReClaim
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use ReClaim on Android devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
5. Optional account
ReClaim functions fully without an account. If you choose to create one (for future cloud backup or settings sync), you're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@tryreclaim.io of any unauthorized use.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App except where applicable law expressly permits it; use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others; interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation or security; or use automated means to access the Service in a way that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce, outside of publicly supported APIs.
7. Device permissions
ReClaim requests certain Android permissions, including Usage Access, Accessibility Service, Notifications, and exemption from battery optimization, solely to provide the blocking, limit, reminder, and scheduling features you enable. Full detail on what each permission does is available on our System Requirements page and in our Privacy Policy. You may decline any permission; the corresponding feature will simply be unavailable or limited.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, branding, text, and underlying software, is owned by ReClaim and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the Service to you.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will successfully prevent all use of any app in every circumstance, see our Disclaimer for detail on the limits of app-blocking enforcement. Nothing in this section limits any consumer protection you're entitled to under mandatory law in your jurisdiction, including Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002, EU consumer protection directives, or applicable U.S. state law, where such rights cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RECLAIM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (which, given the Service is free, is expected to be zero). This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, including certain consumer-protection provisions in Ontario, the EU, and U.S. states that do not permit the exclusion of liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ReClaim harmless from claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law) will survive.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and, where changes are significant, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify users through the App or this website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you access the Service from the European Union, United Kingdom, or United States, you retain any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you under the law of your habitual residence that cannot be waived by contract, notwithstanding this governing-law clause. Any dispute not subject to mandatory local jurisdiction will be resolved in the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
