Accessibility Statement

A calm, uncluttered interface and an accessible one tend to go hand in hand, high contrast, clear hierarchy, and no unnecessary visual noise benefit everyone, including people using assistive technology. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across this website and the ReClaim app, and treat accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-time audit.
This website
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) for screen-reader navigation
- A visible "Skip to content" link for keyboard users
- Full keyboard operability, with visible focus indicators on every interactive element
- Text alternatives for meaningful non-text content
- Respect for your operating system's reduced-motion preference
- Color contrast checked against WCAG AA in both light and dark themes
- Body text that scales cleanly with your browser's zoom or font-size settings
The ReClaim app
ReClaim is built with Android's Material 3 design system, which includes accessibility support out of the box, screen-reader labels, adequate touch-target sizing, and support for Android's system font-size and display-size settings. We test with TalkBack as part of development.
ReClaim optionally requests Android's Accessibility Service permission, not to make the app itself accessible, but to detect and enforce app blocks and limits system-wide. This is a separate, technical use of the same Android API that assistive technologies like TalkBack are also built on. Declining this permission doesn't affect how accessible ReClaim is to use; it only limits whether blocks are enforced outside ReClaim's own screens. See our System Requirements page for detail.
Known limitations
We're not aware of any significant accessibility barriers at this time, but we haven't yet completed a formal third-party audit. If you encounter one, we want to know, see below.
